The lens's physical appearance is enhanced with modernized focus and zoom rings as well as a black mount index, which was previously silver, for a more uniform look. Movie & Still Compatible (MSC) autofocus system benefits both photo and video applications due to its smooth, quiet, and fast performance. One ED lens element suppresses colour fringing and chromatic aberrations for greater clarity and colour accuracy.
